"Touchstone" is a 4th generation family home built on a foundation of the love for Lakeside and family. The owner, my mother, was a cherished year around resident and Lakeside historian who began and ran the Tram tours for 16 years. Her children are now the custodians of this home and we are thrilled to share it with your family, Spring, Summer and Fall. The cottage has been added on several times over the years and was even lifted and turned sideways so passersby could not peak in and view my great aunts playing cards on the front, now side screened porch! It has a rich history. It was winterized more than 20 years ago so it boasts central AC/heating and full-sized washer and dryer, towering cathedral ceilings and a beautiful bay window in the king bedded master. A sliding glass door opens to a private backyard patio. The library is a treasure trove of books and in the music room a piano awaits, owing to Lakeside's rich musical history. Outside is a deck with plenty of cozy seating for outdoor dining/grilling or enjoying a favorite summer book in the sunshine. Tell any home owner you meet that you are staying at "Touchstone" and you will be treated to stories that will bring you back to this cottage for many seasons to come, creating your own family Touchstone. Dining room seating 6, Ceiling fans, screened-in, enclosed side porch; Outdoor deck and back patio with charcoal grill. Amenities: Microwave, Drip & K-Cup coffeemaker, toaster, refrigerator and stove, fire extinguishers, smoke detectors. Additional features Cottage features a garbage disposal, washer, dryer, crockpot, air fryer, a charcoal grill, 3 Smart TV's, games, and books. Please note: a cleaning fee is required with each reservation. Upon departure, renters must wash, dry and put away all kitchenware (including emptying the dishwasher, if cottage is equipped), remove all trash and take to receptacles near the Welcome Center, and fold bedspreads neatly at the foot of the beds. Cottage Rentals Cancellation Policy: 30% Down payment is nonrefundable and due upon booking of reservation. Remaining balance is due 90 Days from arrival date. If not paid, the reservation will be automatically cancelled and 30% down payment will not be refunded. 60 Days to 89 Days from arrival date, if the reservation is Cancelled all monies will be refunded less the original 30% down payment. (i.e., $2,000 Full Payment; 30% Down Payment is $600. Cancelled refund is $1,400.) 31 Days to 59 Days of arrival date, if reservation is cancelled 50% of monies paid after the 30% down payment. (i.e., $2,000 Full Payment; 30% Down Payment is $600. Cancelled refund is $700.) 30 Days or less if the reservation is Cancelled there will be $0 refunds.
